2019 Summery of Events
Following the AGM meeting held on 19 February 2019 the events outlined here were agreed and scheduled on the indicated dates.
Working Party 1 took place on Saturday 13 April. 9 members attended and a significant amount of bank side improvements were achieved. Take a look at the before and after pictures in the '2019 Working Parties' Section.
Working Party 2 took place on Sunday 9 June. This group continued the good work started earlier in the year.
Both of these focused on creating better access to the river as well improving opportunities for casting when in the river.
Stocking took place on Thursday 2 May 2019. These fish are now nicely settled in and responding well to our offerings.
Members are encouraged to attend to help share the work - The Secretary or Treasurer emails all members nearer the time to ask for volunteers for each event.
The Summer BBQ and Master Classes took place on 20 July 2019.
The focus of the Master Class this year was 'Presentation of the Fly' with particular emphasis on 'dry fly techniques'

Additional Raffle

A bonus set of raffle prizes were kindly donated to the Club. Two of our members, Clark Colman and Leigh Fidell, are AAPGAI Qualified Advanced Instructors and their services can be negotiated with tuition on our section of the River Nidd. Both of these Instructor/Guides have each kindly offered a free one day 1:1 day's tuition as raffle prizes to be taken on a date, by mutual agreement, with the winners of this raffle during the 2019 season. Two further prizes will also be included thanks to Orvis Harrogate Store: An Orvis Clearwater 9ft 4wt rod, Clearwater Large Arbor Reel, Clearwater Line all spooled up and ready to go, a complete set up for one lucky winner and finally an Orvis £50 Gift Voucher. On the day two additional prizes were donated by members, a Shooting Stick and a Fly Retrieval Device.
The draw for this Raffle took place at the Summer BBQ and Master Class on 20 July 2019, the lucky winners have now all been notified. The Raffle profits have boosted the Clubs funds significantly, thank you to all who bought tickets.
